Little Foragers: Mommy + Me Mondays

Little Foragers: Mommy + Me Mondays

Ages 18 months and older // 5 week //  2 hour long
Monday 11:00-1:00 —  July 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th.
11 AM -Noon: Rotating self lead, nature based activity
Noon-1 PM: Outdoor picnic - BYO lunch. Snacks + water will be available.

Join us every Monday in July for this 5 week series. Centered on connecting kids with nature through self lead play. Each meet up starts off with an hour long rotating, co-creative outdoor activity. After which all are encouraged to stay for a lunch. Kindly ask folks to bring their own food, reusable plates, utensils, and blanket for epic group picnics. There are a couple picnic tables and some seating available. Lounge and linger, before heading home for nap time! Hopefully ;)

This is weather dependent, will cancel under unfavorable conditions for kids. When we do gather, we will be outside the entire time. Shade will be available on land and during lunch. Please come prepared to get dirty with necessary sun protection. In addition bringing appropriate H2O for adequate hydration. **Most importantly: Parents must be present with children at all times.

Donation based: No one turned away for lack of funds
Age Limit: No such thing. My hope is the parents enjoy it as much as their kids.

RSVP Must be made 48 hours in advance. Pre-registeration is required. Kindly email: thirdcoastherbal@gmail.com with dates you would like to attend.

***It is my absolute goal to make this series as accessible as possible. Please reach out with any questions or comments. More details to come.

July 8th — Wild Food Hike: Lets put our walking shoes on and hit the trails. We will take a long walk around the land and maybe stumble into the woods! Finding delicious snacks along the way. Introduce the use of field guides and learning to ID simple plants.

July 15th — Scavenger Show’n’Tell: : Time to put our identification and foraging skills to the test with this simple scavenger hunt. Can you find all that is on the list? Check off native plants, colors, shapes, and more! Come back and sit in circle. Each child will have a chance to show’n’tell what favorite items they found.

July 22nd — Yoga with Plants: Get rooted in the garden with plant yoga. This will likely not be the first time we stretch our legs on the land. But this week, we dive deep into some plant inspired poses. Bring your yoga mat or blanket to practice on.

July 29th — Garden Harvest Party: Our last gathering shall go out with a grand harvest. The garden shall be in full swing. All are welcome to harvest and prepare a community feast for our final farewell.
