How do shop updates work?
TCHC releases seasonal offerings in small batches in the online apothecary. On average, the shop will be updated on a monthly basis. Occasionally, the shop will be closed; so that we may catch up on mailing orders, take time to restock and rest. Sign up for newsletter at bottom of page to be in the know about our next shop update!

What is Community Supported Herbalism?
CSH or Community Supported Herbalism is exactly how it sounds. The community members coming together to support local herbalist. Modeled after CSA or Community Supported Agriculture — instead of receiving a box of seasonal vegetables, you will receive a box of seasonal plant medicines. A new offering for 2021, TCHC will be offering quarterly CSH wellness boxes. Stay tuned for more details on how to sign up. Where do you source product ingredients?
TCHC puts planet before profit. This is especially highlighted in the amount of care and intention put into sourcing the highest quality ingredients for our products. First and foremost, growing or foraging as much as we can from our 20 acre farm and our neighbors 98 acre property. Neither of which use any chemicals on the land. We grow using KNF and beyond organic techniques. All other plant material, honey and beeswax are all sourced locally via other small scale Michigan based farms or foragers. Any store bought menstruums (oils, vinegars or spirits) are all organic. All our offerings are free from essential oils.

Are your products organic?
We are not certified organic, nor do we ever plan to be. We know the techniques we are using go above and beyond organic requirements. Soil health is a top priority here at April Rain Acres. Organic does not mean sustainable. We focus more on regenerative practices than anything else. Even now the word “regenerative” is being overused, just as the word “organic” has come to be. I highly suggest knowing your farmer or herbalist — if we have not met yet, please do reach out. I am pleased to make your virtual acquaintance and answer any specific questions you have about our farming techniques.
